The Effects of KMS Quality and Work Environment on Knowledge Sharing of Employee: The Extension of the Technology Acceptance Model

Abstract


As knowledge management(KM) is recognized as an essential condition for the continuous growth of organizations, organizations continue to invest in KM structures and technologies. In order to form a KM structure within an organization, voluntary actions for knowledge sharing of employees are required.  This study confirms the change in intention to share knowledge through the knowledge management system of employees according to the work environment and KMS quality. We presented a research model and hypothesis based on previous studies. In particular, we conducted a survey on workers of organizations with more than 50 employees and operated the KMS, and tested the hypothesis by applying the structural equation model. As a result, the competitive psychological climate negatively affected the intention to share knowledge through territoriality, and the information and service quality of KMS had a positive effect on the knowledge sharing through usefulness and ease of use. In addition, the competitive psychological climate and territoriality reduced the positive influence of TAM. The study concludes with the strategy for changing the behavior of employees that want to promote knowledge-sharing activities through the KMS.
