Comparative Analysis on Regional Transactions Using Transaction Network of Companies - Korean Case
Abstract
To observe the competitiveness and characteristics of each region, it is important to analyze the levels of business transactions between companies of it. In particular, it is necessary to analyze the transaction network of each region to resolve the problem of regional growth imbalance caused by concentrated growth in South Korea. However, a limitation to collecting the transaction network between companies since such information is not public. Moreover, as the business relationships between companies are very complex, the analysis of transaction networks is very challenging. To overcome these problems, in this study, we analyze the transaction network of each region based on social network analysis method. Specifically, we investigate the levels of buy trade, sell trade, trade brokerage, and network density for the representative nine regions in South Korea. As the analysis results, most companies perform more buy transactions with other companies in of the region, and more sell transactions with other companies out of the region. In particular, the level of network density of the Busan region is the highest among the other regions.
